Information on the Assessed Archives

The Central State Archive of the Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic was originally established in 1958 with the merging of the Central State Historical Archive of the Uzbekistan Soviet Socialist Republic and the Central State Archive of the October Revolution; in 1991 it became today’s Central State Archive of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Today the Central State Archive is administered by the Agency "Uzarkhiv" within the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The archive stores documents on the history of Turkestan, which before the national delimitation included Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, part of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, as well as documents reflecting the history of Uzbekistan.
